We have 2 Mini-Nubian Wethers and 1 Mini-Nubian Doe who will be 1 year old Spring of 2004. Also, 2 young does training to be therapy goats with the Delta Society. We are just learning about the wonderful world of packgoats and harness goats. It is so fun to find other people who enjoy their goats as much as we do. Hope this is enough info for your roster. I guess I should post a new member post on CPG group so that people know we exist. I do read the posts a lot. So interesting. Also, I enjoy the All Things Packgoat group as well. Have a good day, Thanks, Sandy

Cascade Packgoat Club
Western Oregon, Southern Washington
The Cascade Packgoat Club is based in Portland, Oregon but we have members all over Oregon and up into Washington. The CPC is the longest active packgoat club and has pioneered a number of firsts including the first two packgoat rendezvous. We have events throughout the year such as campouts, the SOLV beach cleanup, clinics on all types of packgoat information such as harness goats, massage, clicker training and much more. Our only bylaw is that meetings will have goats in attendance. This includes our annual meeting which is usually a hike. Some members also participate in the Mt Hood National Forest's Wilderness Steward Program as volunteers. Other members take their goats to fairs and other public gatherings to talk about and promote packgoats. For more information email ecpg@peoplepc.com Dues are $10 a year and there is a charge for activities, but non-members are welcome to participate by just paying the activity fee.

We've raised goats since 1990. My son Clay showed 4-H and F.F.A. We started with one wether named Dobbles. They started doing parades in pack as well as a 4-H project. Last year we finally got to get out into the hills. Dobbles loves to get out and enjoy the hills as well. Now it is just the two of us and my son's dog. Clay joined the Army, but still interested in what his goats are doing. We start in Fallon, NV. I would love to hear for other Packers.

I'm Carolyn Eddy and in addition to breeding Alpine, Saanen, Togg and crosbred packgoats for the last 11 years, I also own Eagle Creek Publishing Group, publisher of "Practical Goatpacking", "Diet for Wethers" and of course, Goat Tracks magazine, Journal of the working goat. I'm also active in The North American Packgoat Association and President of the Cascade Packgoat Club, which has members in Washington and Oregon and sponsors clinics and campouts for goatpackers and harness goat enthusiasts. In the summer, I spend a lot of time in the mountains as a volunteer Wilderness Steward for the Mount Hood National Forest and traveling to other states with my hiking partner Alice Beberness and our goats to hike in wilderness areas. I'm available for clinics and seminars and for consultation about nutrition and any other goat management issues that you may have. www.goattracksmagazine.com is my website.

We have been raising goats at our present location for about 12 years. We have been packing for nearly that long. currently we only have one adult packer, Karter, who is also trained to harness and has been in three parades last year. I have some real prospects from the kid crop this year. Can't wait to see how they develop.

I got into goats in 1994 to have a few barnyard pets. Shortly after I stumbled into the world of packgoats and the wonderful journey began. I started Cascade Trail Buddies, a business of the heart based on saving pack quality buck kids from slaughter. Over the years I dabled a bit with breeding, but found it took me away from my main purpose which is hiking and exploring with my boys. With just a few personal hiking buddies in the barn and the business on hold I've come full circle back to that day when I found packgoats and couldn't wait to spend time with them in the woods.
