We have two saanen and two alpine wethers and have been goat packing since 2000. We use our goats for everything from day hikes and chores around the farm to 1-2 week hunting and hiking trips. We do most of our hiking in the wilderness areas in north central Idaho. We do many day hikes and weekend trips and a couple of 1-2 week trips each year.

Still trying to get gear together for camping. In the meantime the goats are just walked around the neighborhood. Have Nubian/Alpines, Boer/Nubian crosses, bucks, wethers, and does. Kids are available in early spring at reasonable rates.

I've been raising packgoats for 5 years. There isn't much of a market for selling them up here. I would like to start a packgoat club to help rouse interest. I show my packgoats in 4-H and I currently hike with 5 goats.

I am more of a "wannabe" than a real life goatpacker. We have been to three of the rendezvous and a lot of the meetings that were going when the treasure valley packgoats started. I have taken the guys for some day hikes but not lately. Health reasons, not my own, interferes with our outings.

I am basically a "wannabe" goatpacker, but I plan on buying 2 or 3 kids in a few weeks. Maybe in time I can be a fully functioning goatpacker.

I've enjoyed backpacking for years and just recently discovered goat packing. I’m very excited about the new Owyhee Pack Goat Club and look forward to many more campouts.

Hello all, We are looking for some cool people around the area that go hiking on the weekends. We have 3 goats (soon to be more) that we take hiking almost every weekend. We are out of areas to hike. Tablerock was fun for the first 2 weeks. Out by Lucky Peak someone traps so we don't go out there anymore. If you would like to go or have any ideas of where to go. Please let me know thanks. Danyele and Justin

We have 2 Oberhasli wethers and would like to meet other folks for hiking this summer. I read every book I can find, subscribe to the packgoat list and enjoy learning from more experienced people. We have a Great Pyrenees puppy of 5 months who is supposed to learn to guard the goats-so far he is their playmate. He grew up with goats at the breeder'sand is a lot of fun-he is over 60 lbs. so far.
Harley and Davey with daughter Julie-they will be a year old this spring.
March 2005-Harley & Davey Oberhasli wethers are 2 years old now-Luc the Great Pyrenees is 135 lbs and loves to go hiking with us. We bought driving harnesses, work harnesses, a wagon and dog harness-everyone gets to work!
